Body armor levels can be confusing, especially when armor companies try to "one up" each other in the marketing realm. But our SRT Lightweight rifle plates are rated to level IIIA+ because it defeats more than just your common handgun rounds do – which is the Level IIIA standard. But it also doesn't quite fit the bill of a Level III body armor plate because it isn't capable of defeating six 7.62X51 Steel-Jacketed M80 NATO rounds as is the requirement of Level III rifle plates.
