It features a groundbreaking design that takes largely based on Sig Sauer's renowned MCX modular rifle platform, which utilizes a short-stroke recoil gas piston operating system. What separates Sig Sauer's MCX platform from other AR/M4 style rifles is the recoil system that totally eliminates the need for a buffertube, making the MCX Rattler more compact than any AR/M4 rifle ever produced.
